Once a suggestion is accepted by the unconscious mind it is a belief which invokes an emotional pattern match and is not forgotten.
However the emotional and behavioral pattern, or trance; can be modified and compounded with time and experience. The assumption is accepted suggestions compound each other and together get stronger.
So when a suggestion is accepted without any interference by the analytical or critical factor of the conscious mind it transforms into a belief by definition. Beliefs are dynamic and trance-specific in the sense that they are self limiting.
Beliefs are self limiting because they form false dichotomies when expressing themselves. For every memory that composes a belief there is a reverse process that defines what the belief is not. This false dichotomy causes the mind to dig deeper into its identity by establishing an upper and lower limit known as the comfort zone. This comfort zone is a representation of the subconscious mind.
The subconscious mind stores all past suggestions and classifies them into beliefs. These beliefs Form a filteration process that drive the focus and attention of the conscious mind through emotions.
Emotions are a dual manifestation of physiology and psychology. There is a felt sensation in the body that is reactive and instantaneous. The awareness of the feelings and the labeling of these feelings is a conscious process which involves language.
The language of any emotional experience is based in the five sensory systems of the body. The experience is described in terms of what is seen; heard; touched; smelt; or tasted. In other words experiences are what you see hear and feel. Memories; good and bad; are stored in the subconscious mind as beliefs and emotional patterns and the key words that trigger those patterns describe what is seen, heard and felt.
Suggestions that are accepted by the unconscious mind form a part of the filtration system of the unconscious mind and help lock themselves in by transforming into patterns of emotion, behavior, thought and expression.
The changes are meant to be permanent and could be considered forgotten in the sense that automated experiences like learning to walk may lose the specific memory of the first attempt at walking. However the suggestion; once accepted becomes integrated at an identity level and signs of having accepted the suggestion are clear in the behavioral outcomes.
