Is it possible to hypnotize a subject if the subject has prior knowledge of the process of hypnosis and knowledge of how hypnosis works?
Yes absolutely. Hypnosis is a necessity of communication. The obstacles to hypnosis are active resistance to the process (because the subject doesn't want to be hypnotized) or passive resistance (what I call reactance; when the change doesn't make enough sense; a natural resistance to unfamiliarity).
