So the basic answer would be no…you MUST understand the hypnotist and the suggestions in order to follow them!
But it is not necessarily relevant to “getting” hypnotized because hypnosis is most simply a state of focused attention and fascination. And there are ways to induce Hypnotic states that are nonverbal. In fact, the foreign language may fascilitate and enhance a Hypnotic induction because one would naturally focus harder to try to understand what otherwise sounds like jibber jabber!
So you can induce hypnosis nonverbally but making suggestions in a foreign language is nonsensical and would be a wasted effort.
Finally note: you may know more language than you think!
